Hi ! I am Bako
As the founder and general manager, I ensure that every Matana product embodies authenticity, quality, and fairness.
I oversee operations between Madagascar and Canada and carefully choose suppliers who share our values—cooperatives, social impact, and respect for the environment.
My priority is to keep Matana’s mission at the heart of every decision: showcasing Madagascar while supporting its rural communities, and sharing the very best of Madagascar with the world.
My story
Born in France, raised in Madagascar, and now living in Québec, I have been fortunate to build a multicultural journey that shapes my vision of work and entrepreneurship.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Corporate Finance, I began part of my career in France before continuing in Québec, where I currently work as a manager in a surety company.
A mother of two boys, I am simultaneously pursuing my entrepreneurial ambition through Matana, a business I develop part-time. This project reflects my values: authenticity, respect for producers, and a commitment to sharing the richness of Madagascar’s natural and fair-trade products with the world.
